The ideas in this book are mostly common sense. But they are organized in a way that helps you regain trust in what common sense says, relax and be less paranoic trying to do everything at a time.

The merits of the book are in its clear structuring of the "focus on one important thing at a time" idea, its operationalization in a four-step process, and its persuasive use of real examples.

It is less radical and more structured than "the one thing", by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan, also a great book. It acknowledges explicitly and gives its place to the "whirlwind", that set of everyday activities that you just can't ignore.

Effective common sense

Content is good. But why is the narrator of the book constantly adding awkward laughs into almost each sentence? Very irritating to list to.

What is wrong with the narrator?
