Despite perhaps some minor logical mistakes, this story is very well crafted. Its themes about people, living/survival and art link well together. Switches between characters and times progress to create a beautiful pattern.

The story is wonderfully crafted - interweaving the different storylines and instances in time and characters.

Its a different take on (post)apocalyptic fiction as it is not the classic good vs. bad / zombies vs. humans / rebels vs. government storyline we are often used. Yet the story doe not fail to provide tension and excitment.

(I used the goodreads rating system to rate the books I've read so 4 stars means it was a great book)

It‘s slowburning, interesting theory of how the world ends, originally presented, but kind of dies at the end, it never blooms, it stays in the grays and keeps there untill the end where (for my view) it loses it.
It wasn‘t a waste of time, but I ended up wanting some more.

Gripping story, a lot less esoteric then I expected. More "Contagion" meets a good version of "the postman" than arthouse, if you want to put it in movie terms.
Some minor weaknesses though, imho especially with the villain who is more a side character than I would have wished.

Das Buch hatte für mich zu wenig Fokus auf die Welt um uns herum. Es ging mehr um die Charaktere und ihre Bedürfnisse, Sorgen, Reuegefühle über die Vergangenheit. Ein spannendes Konzept, das mich stellenweise aber leider mit mehr Fragen zurückgelassen hat, als mir lieb war.

Narration is quite good, I liked it.

Unfortunately the book is a set of boring short stories, loosely connected by very shallow post apocalyptic glue. Loose ends, strange characters and story lines (the prophet....).

Die 4 Geschichten kommen schon irgendwie zusammen aber es ist sehr antiklimaktisch und langweilig. ich kann nicht sagen, dass mir irgendein Charakter etwas bedeutet hätte. Die Autorin verbringt viel Zeit mit dem relativ langweiligen Leben der Hauptfiguren, viel erfährt man aber trotzdem nicht über sie. das Leben nach der Apokalypse und das Leben auf Station Eleven wären so coole Themen gewesen, wenn sie einfach besser, vor allem genauer beschrieben wären und vielleicht der Fokus der Geschichte wären. Es war sehr schwierig sich die Personen oder Orte vorzustellen, weil sie nur dürftig beschrieben wurden. ich habe es dennoch ganz durchgehört und es war unterhaltsam genug, irgendwie.
