    Inhaltsangabe

The highly anticipated sequel to Audible's Best of 2016 - Science Fiction winner, We Are Legion (We Are Bob); a book listeners are calling "so much fun", "what science fiction was meant to be", and what would happen if "Andy Weir and Ernest Cline had a lovechild".

Bob Johansson didn't believe in an afterlife, so waking up after being killed in a car accident was a shock. To add to the surprise, he is now a sentient computer and the controlling intelligence for a Von Neumann probe.

Bob and his copies have been spreading out from Earth for 40 years now, looking for habitable planets. But that's the only part of the plan that's still in one piece. A system-wide war has killed off 99.9 percent of the human race; nuclear winter is slowly making the Earth uninhabitable; a radical group wants to finish the job on the remnants of humanity; the Brazilian space probes are still out there, still trying to blow up the competition; and the Bobs have discovered a spacefaring species that sees all other life as food.

Bob left Earth anticipating a life of exploration and blissful solitude. Instead he's become a sky god to a primitive native species, the only hope for getting humanity to a new home, and possibly the only thing that can prevent every living thing in the local sphere from ending up as dinner.

Listener favorite Ray Porter returns to narrate Bob - and his many incarnations - in all of their geeky glory.

For We Are Many is the second installment in the blockbuster Audible Original Bobiverse series - which has sold more than one million copies.

Good follow-up with some production issues

Let's begin with the good stuff: the story is still very interesting (and sometimes thought-provoking), Ray Porter still provides a great Admiral Ackbar rendition. if you liked the first one, you will like this one as well.

I'm not going to spoil the story, but this second installment is not as laugh-out-loud funny as the first one. Our narrators deal with some pretty heavy issues.

However, the audiobook production has some pretty bad quality issues. It seems that roughly 5% of random sentences were re-recorded on noticably worse equipment. The switch between qualities is quite jarring.

    Recording with glitches

As with the first book, story and narration are well executed. However, this recording has sone glitches. For instance, it's audible (no pun intended) at various places that the narrator accidentally skipped a word, upon which the recording would be halted, rewound a but, and done again. The effect of this being carried out sloppily is something like "[...] there was a s... very strange [...]", i.e., the S is clearly audible.

The worst glitch, though, occurs in Chapter 50 at 09:50, where part of a paragraph is missing. I made sure that it's not a transmission issue by re-downloading the audiobook.

This recording definitely gas room for improvement, and I'm looking forward to revising my rating after Audible updated this audiobook.

    Schöne Geschichte mit wenigen Audiofehlern

Zwischendurch hat die Stimme zu etwas blechernem gewechselt, ohne inhaltlichen Grund.

Die Geschichte an sich ist Großartig!

    Even more Bobs

Continues the story from pt. 1 with the same breathtaking pace. A very good read. However, the speaker pronounces several words differently than in Legion. The inconsistency can be quite irritating.

    Sehr empfehlenswert!

    bob does not aprove

    Older Reviews have been aknowledged

The problems cited in older reviews (e.g. audibly re-recorded sections with worse equipment) didn't come up when i listened - sometimes i could tell that certain parts were re-recorded but i noticed no loss in quality. Strongly recommended if you liked the first book (i'm sure you did if you're reading this).

    Brilliant. Just brilliant!

I love the Bobiverse books. The setting, the mood, the feel to it. The speaker does a great job capturing it and I feel right at home. This is my third time through the books!

    Another hit!

What can I say, really, other than that All These Worlds would live up to whatever high expectations you might have after completing We Are Legion, both in story and narration.
