Über diesen Titel

Martin and his friends discovered that their world is computer generated and that by altering the code, they could alter reality. They traveled back in time to Medieval England to live as wizards. Almost everything they've done since then has, in one way or another, blown up in their faces.

So of course they decide to make dragons. It does not go well.

As the wizards struggle to control their creations and protect innocent citizens, they try new things (most of which they don't enjoy), meet new people (most of who are angry at them), and fight epic battles (most of which they lose).

But their biggest challenge may be a young girl who knows that the wizards created the dragons and is determined to make them pay. On her side she has powerful allies, a magical artifact, and a faithful if not particularly helpful dog.

Fight and Flight is a rollicking tale of bravery, wonder, love, revenge, greed, discovery, deception, and animal husbandry.

aber immer noch sehr gut und sehr lustig. Ich fand jedoch dass es ein wenig abwechslungsreicher hatte sein können in der zweiten Hälfte. auch die Charakter Entwicklung blieb etwas dürftig aus.

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

It's part of the fun in this series that the "Wizards" are almost almighty time-travelers but always too gawky to fully use their powers. This book is a bit disappointing, though, as the discrepancy of their powers and their stupid actions is too obvious. It worked well in book one where they were like toddlers who yet have to learn how to use their powers. Now they know their world and the book explicitly points out that they have quite a history there.

Additionally the "moral preachment" aspect was almost annoying. "Don't be overbearing, give bad men a second chance, respect women, trust the capabilities of clever children..." Just because the audience most probably like the 1990s retro charm of the books, does not mean that their mindsets are stuck in the 1970s and need to be educated.

I really loved the first book of this series, and the following were entertaining enough, but this one was fairly dull, the whole story of modern geeks as wizards in the middle ages is pretty much lost at this point.

this book is extremly boring. the reading performance was fine, but story is so flat and way to long for what it is.

Ich mochte die ersten drei Bücher, obwohl diese, imho, von Buch zu Buch an Qualität abnehmen. Das Vierte ist echt lahm; es wird ein Plot, welcher in einer Stunde völlig ausreichend erzählt wäre auf zehn Stunden gestreckt. Ich bin sehr unschlüssig, ob ich mir das fünfte Buch zulegen werde. Sehr schade.
