I was going to write an amazed review, because it is an amazing audiobook. I mean, it had been recommended to me so many times that I had begun to avoid it, if anyone can relate.

I finished it and immediately want to listen to it again, but Audible, Amazon's daughter, perhaps a modern goddess herself, is forcing me to write a review first.

I'm not sure I defied her, let's see...

Nachdem ich ich Buch gelesen und die Serie gesehen habe war es schön toll wieder Zeit mit all den wundervollen Figuren zu verbringen und erneut den Drang zu verspüren mehr über die ganzen Götter zu erfahren. Ich möchte gerne jedem der sich für nicht nur für Mythologie aber auch für eine gute Geschichte interessiert, dieses Hörbuch ans Herz legen.

Sowohl die Sprecher als auch die gesamte Inszenierung und Vertonung waren beeindruckend. Die Geschichte ist außergewöhnlich und fantasievoll, auch wenn sie ab und zu etwas ins Stocken gerät.

the production of this audiobook is outstanding. I will have to wrap my head around the story, I don't know if I fully get it yet. However, it is worth the money. I will probably listen to it again.

Gaimans beste Schöpfung neben dem Graveyardbook, Coraline, Sandman, Neverwhere, the ocean at the end of the lane....einfach prokreativ und nicht übergehbar.

Ich habe dieses Hörbuch sprichwörtlich verschlungen. Sehr detailverliebt, aber ohne sich darin zu verirren. Einige tolle Wendungen, welche man gemeinsam mit der Hauptfigur entdecken kann - langweilig wird es nie!

Don't get me wrong: Neil Gaiman has a fantastic talent to create amazing worlds, he also has the gift to intrigue, so much I want to travel and explore his "worlds" on back of his novels, yearning for the ultimate delighte , which never comes for my part.

Actually I consider the phenomenon of Neil gaiman overrated and a bit like "the emperor's new clothes", like a critique once said- everyone makes such a fuss about him, that his flaws are overlooked.

in "American Gods", N.G., hardly ever capitalises on his great ideas and characters, and once again he manages to make his stories appear longish and kind of dull, the characters have no space to evolve and act out, and again he is overstretching the arc of suspense into eternity and then the story ends. (it's like if "lord of the rings" would end in Revendell after those 100 pages of opening words and the first journey).

this time again, I've lingered around until the end after a great opening of this tedious story with the hope that the story will actually finally kick off and then I asked myself "was that all"??
