As the translator describes at the end of the book: For me as a western sci-fi enthusiast who grew up reading exclusively British and American classics and contemporary instant classics, the story structuring and character-emphases of this Chinese masterpiece felt alienating, disorienting, even tedious at first. And by "At first" I mean the first 9 out of 14 hours.

The last five though make me more than glad that I pulled through. Grand Payoffs. Novel ideas. Absolutely worth the time.

This is not a linear sci-fi opera. This is best described as a complex interstellar murder mystery. Thank You Cixin Liu and Ken Liu.

noch nie hat mich ein Buch so in den Bann gezogen. Die Geschichte ist so klug durchdacht.

Ich fand die Wissenschaft hinter dem Buch total interessant, habe allerings – so fürchte ich – viele kulturelle Zusammenhänge nicht ganz so umrissen. Bestimmt waren alle Handlungen sehr interessant, mir jedoch warenmdie Handlungsstränge und ihre Übergänge manchmal nicht klar genug. ich habe auch schon 'mal den Film angefangen und wieder abgebrochen, da ging es mir ähnlich. Ich bin froh, dass ich es gelesen habe allerdings war es leider einfach nicht so meins.
