Amazing listening experience
Great story. It starts slow but the ending is awesome. Gripping till the end. The narrator is awesome in capturing the emotions

Horizon-Broadening
As the translator describes at the end of the book: For me as a western sci-fi enthusiast who grew up reading exclusively British and American classics and contemporary instant classics, the story structuring and character-emphases of this Chinese masterpiece felt alienating, disorienting, even tedious at first. And by "At first" I mean the first 9 out of 14 hours.
The last five though make me more than glad that I pulled through. Grand Payoffs. Novel ideas. Absolutely worth the time.
This is not a linear sci-fi opera. This is best described as a complex interstellar murder mystery. Thank You Cixin Liu and Ken Liu.

The most boring book I’ve listened to in years
Do you enjoy listening to hour-long non-fiction books full of nonsense techno-babble? The kind that make you feel the author gets paid by the word, because they explain every unimportant detail for hours? Then you’re in for a treat, because that’s how this novel feels like.
The book explores some interesting ideas, but oh my, that’s about it. The whole “story” could be condensed into 1h without loosing much.
What astounds me the most, is that despite the length of the book, the author doesn’t manage to give the characters any depth, or to build up any suspense. There are a few surprise moments, but the vast majority is foreseeable. It honestly felt like medium-quality fanfiction. That’s the level you should expect here.
