it was an amazing although short one. Bringing together all the missing links to the history of the ten realms and setting up the final book nicely

The story just wants to rush to the final battle.
Just as with the Alchemie teacher they randomly stumble upon a great hidden master that eye of the tigers them to new hights... no effort to expkain how and why anymore...

Rushed Story, half a book

After listening to all the audiobooks of "The Ten Realms" available to date, and making it three hours into this one, the lack of character / personality -development for the two main characters is painfully apparent.
Despite my lingering hope for improvement, the reality falls short.

If you like "power-up, no personality" kind of MCs you are free to go.

To be blunt, the protagonists are portrayed as nothing more than glorified military drones—a description that sadly hits the mark with unsettling accuracy. ( Is there even one conversation without talking about "powering-up"?)

This realization hits harder considering the series stretches over 12 books, yet the characters show no real change.
+ It seems, as the story's complexity and battlefield scenes diminish, the surprisingly short length of the last two books, at just 6-8 hours each, only adds to the disappointment.

sadly feels like the Autor is loosing interest in his own story. charakers and plots that filld whole chapters in the erlyer books dont get much attention.
long standing charakters like quin and others get bearly acknowledged or seem forgotten. the whole plot seems hurried along and feels to short. with bearly above 7h the book is sadly not worth the Credit
