How far would you go for happily ever after?

'An unputdownable fairy tale' Kerri Maniscalco, New York Times bestselling author of Kingdom of the Wicked

From the #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Caraval series, the first book in a new series about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.

For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in happily ever after. Until she learns that the love of her life is about to marry another, and her dreams are shattered.

Desperate to stop the wedding, and heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.

But after Evangeline's first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game - and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy . . .

and I'm disappointed that they came true. I saw this book touted everywhere as a stellar enemies-to-lovers with magical elements that wasn't your typical fae magical world. I would say my biggest qualms about this story are the pacing of the story (it draaaaaaged on in some points), the mentality of the main character (I'm hopeful but I'm suspicious but I choose to believe but I've connected all the dots and everyone is against me but I think the best of them but they won't fool be twice, thrice, etc), and the decision to leave the direction of the story very unclear throughout the whole book. I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe the first book is truly enjoyable once you've read the series as a whole, but I'm not really inspired to even read/listen to the sequels.

I had my doubts

Such a unique, whimsical story written in a pretty, cozy fantasy world. I loved how it felt like a fairy tale.

Heartbreakingly beautiful

I quite like the story but the performer with the annoying American accent is hard to listen to.
