An enjoyable fairytale, not too stressful, easy to listen to. Characters are charming. I recommend for lovers of the author and caraval series. It keeps up the spirit.

Gorgeous descriptions and overall writing style too but might bore the reader that enjoys high stakes, fast pace and deeply developed characters. I felt like I couldn't connect to the characters and relationship because they felt a little too superficial. Also some explanations were a little too cononvenient.

But it reads like Alice in Wonderland (like a fever dream haha) so others might like it. You can get easily lost in the world.

Main heroine is so naive it hurts some times to continue the story. Could not make myself to take up the sequel.

Hauptcharakter ist sehr schwach und kommt mir vor wie ein Spielball, der sich von äußeren Umständen herumschubsen lässt. Es werden sehr viele Elemente miteinander vermischt, bin ein Fan von Fantasy und Romance, aber das war mir schon ein bisschen zu viel. Zielgruppe ist ab 14 Jahren angegeben, trotzdem hätte man die Story und Charaktere besser aufbauen können…
