Not enough explanation of what is happening, where the character is what he does. I like the take on the future but for me it's impossible to follow the plot. some parts are well explained and paints you a nice picture of what's happening, but in most cases I find myself making a confused face. More than an hour in I decided to give up.

Das Buch und die Story selber gefielen mir sehr gut. Die Story ist spannend geschrieben und die Welt mit liebe zum Detail aufgebaut. Die einzigen zwei Sachen die mich gestört haben sind:
1) dass in der Erzählstruktur manchmal zu schnell gesprungen wird, mit zu vielen verschiedenen neuen Namen, was trilweise etwas verwirrend werden kann. Zur Mitte des Buchs ist es am schlimmsten, gegen Ende kaum noch.
2) Die Audioaufnahme hat alle paar Minuten mal Schnipsel drin, die sich anhören als hätte irgendein Schülerpraktikant da eine zweite Audiospur reingeschnitten. Da springt dann auf einmal die Tonlage und die Audioqualität, nur um ein paar Worte weiter wieder zurück zum alten zu springen. Als hätte die Ursprüngliche Aufnahme Löcher, die man amateurhaft flicken wollte. Das ist stellenweise sehr nervig.

I am aware, this book practically started the genre, but it did not really impress me that much. It was very entertaining, but lacks the epic moral questions, I came to expect of Cyberpunk.. or at least to a degree, that is still noteworthy.

It's an okay performance by the reader, but maybe the book would benefit from a re-recording in better audio quality.

Solid Cyberpunk Story

I am very interested in this genre and like the story, I think. However, due to the audio quality and the speaker's way of reading in some parts, it was difficult for me to understand acoustically. Maybe this is not an issue for a native speaker, but it was for me, as a German with good English.
