This is one of the best Cyberpunk novels I have ever read/Iistend to. A must-read for all fans of the genre. Only downer: Although I loved the deep voice of the narrator that meant a perfect fit to this novel his intonation often did not feel correct in more emotional situations. It is just a pity that this novel is so unknown to people outside to the US and that there is no German version of it! 😉

Perfect read for every cyberpunk fun! Story dense with cyber and punk. The lektor is quite special but for this story fits perfectly.

Nach Obital Bombardement ist die Erde in einem desolaten Zustand. Viele große Städte vernichtet, Menschen, die im Weltraum über die Erde wohnen haben die Kontrolle über die Erde.

Viele Menschen sind durch Implantate verstärkt, wer kann, verdient sich mit Schmuggel, Auftragsmord oder verschiedenen halbseidenen Dingen seinen Lebensunterhalt.

In diesem Szenario geraten die Protagonisten in einen Strudel aus Verwicklungen großer Konzerne.

Kurzweilig geschrieben, schlüssig durchdacht und ein Cyberpunk Roman, der nicht das Thema künstliche Intelligenz bespielt. Dazu sehr atmosphärisch gelesen, insgesamt hat es mir hervorragend gefallen.

the story is nicely written and the characters are classical Cyberpunks. the narrator gives a lot of character to the different roles. all in all one of the best cyberpunk stories of the 80s
