Inhaltsangabe

A rising star in the fantasy genre, Michael J. Sullivan has built an ardent following for his Riyria Revelations saga, which draws to its epic conclusion in Heir of Novron.

On the holiday of Wintertide, the New Empire plans to burn the Witch of Melengar and force the Empress into a marriage of their own design. But they didn’t account for Royce and Hadrian finally locating the Heir of Novron—or the pair’s desire to wreak havoc on the New Empire’s carefully crafted scheme.

Heir of Novron contains Wintertide and Percepliquis, books 5 and 6 of Riyria Revelations.

Ein glorreicher Abschluss der Saga.

Die einzige und größte Kritik, es ist zu Ende. Es ist aber ein toller Abschluss.

Epic final

The setting for Heir of Novron is the most classical fantasy part of Riyria, with a quest for a horn and a race war.
The characters are brilliant as always Royce, Hadrian and Arista as she grew from the princess into a wizardess. Thraise finally snaps out of her depression.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I will only say: the payoff is epic, all major open questions get answers, finally everything ties together and something relevant happens in contrast to the middle part, that always felt a bit like filler (or more like extra stories like the Riyria Chronicles instead of part of one whole story). I loved it.
Tim Gerald Reynolds is great and one of the reasons I switched to listen in English, the other is I hate waiting.
