After playing Online together for years, Jason and his friends are excited about the possibilities of the emerging technology of Full-Immersion Virtual Reality, aka FIVR. Preparing for the release of The World, Jason is determined to help his friends realize their dream of becoming pro gamers.

Choosing a 'Nightmare' start to get ahead of the wave of new players starting the game, Jason finds himself alone in the wild tasked with saving a group of refugees from goblin invaders. Although he manages to save the survivors, that's just the beginning of his trials as he desperately fights to bring them back from the edge of annihilation.

Jason is quickly swept up in the adventure as he struggles to build a home for his guildmates and the NPCs that he’s saved. As the trouble heats up, he quickly discovers that marauding goblins are the least of his concerns.

I like the story and also the speaker very much. Some phrases are used a bit too often, but apart from that -> awesome!

It is a great story that in my gamer prespective details a super detailed gamers fantasy of downing asshats and kinda living in a game

ich hätte nicht erwartet das mich die Serie so begeistert. Habe alle bisher erschienen Bücher durch und kann kaum erwarten das neue kommen.

aber zu kurz, hat nen Kliffhänger und kommt nicht zur sache (erster Teil endet in einer bis jetzt unwichtigen neben quest)

Really like the story and the voice, now started listening to part 8.

The first day is split into multiple parts/books, that seems unnecessarily expensive... I'm still hooked so it's worth I guess ;)

Note at the Speaker: Would be nice to fix the "Pickers" from Chapter 6, PKers, Player Killers should be pronounced "PeKeyers"

+ overall a good opening
+ Narrator is good
- some proof reading problems
- sometimes the narrator butchers the gaming terms


overall nice vibre litrpg , no getting sucked in a game or a system appears, but the digital personalities are not just NPCs

I have discovered LitRPG a few years ago and I have listened to a lot of them in the meantime. The world absorbed me from the first hour with its unconventional ideas. I can strongly recommend it!

Out of the standard

Main character is just power boosted that he one shots everything. This is explained with a "nightmare" start, but tbh he even one shots the elite nightmare enemy. no fun at all to listen to this story.

The start took forever. Talking about how pro these gamers where. Got really dark for a moment. Then really interesting and good with the whole quest chain. Then he went on a boring 4 hours or so mini dungeon... To get to the actual dungeon. While having what he came for to the town, letting his npc people suffer... Sooo.. Bad plot and a hypocrite Mc. XD. Speaker is really good Altough.
