Best litrpg i ever heard. The system is amazing, the pace is great, the obstacles are believable. Starts with a kinda slow pace, but this sets the series for greatness! Bought all one after the other, and best spent money on here ever.

I cannot point to the exact qualities that made this come about, but I listened to the entire book in one go - even to the detriment of my sleep cycle. Now I started the second one right away... Considering there are currently 3 books available, I hope I won't suffer from serious sleep deprivation. I just want more...

If this is not your first litrpg bookthen the beginning might feel a bit slow, but after that action starts quickly and the whole story and its characters grow on you. I will 100% get book 2.

Begins slow but then gets really good

Ich bin total begeistert. Einer der besten LitRPG-Romane, die ich bisher gehört habe.

Gut finde ich, dass sich der Charakter langsamer entwickelt als in den meisten anderen Geschichten, in denen ich als Leser die erreichten Erfahrungspunkte und Fähigkeiten nur so um die Ohren gehauen bekomme. Die Entwicklung in diesem Hörbuch kann ich viel besser nachvollziehen, und die jeweils neuen Fähigkeiten machen auch wirklich einen Unterschied. Dadurch bleibt es wirklich die ganze Zeit über spannend und nachvollziehbar.

Ich finde auch schön, dass sich der Autor sehr eng an die klassischen RPG-Elemente hält. Mir scheint, dass viele andere Leser/Hörer einen weiter ausholenden und komplexeren Ansatz mögen. Für mich verzetteln sich aber zu viele LitRPG-Romane zu sehr auf Nebenschauplätzen, in denen es mehr um Gesellschaft, Götter, ewig lange Dialoge etc. als um das eigentliche RPG-Erlebnis geht. He who fights monsters ist für mich ein gutes Beispiel: Anfangs war ich sehr begeistert, verlor aber zunehmend das Interesse, weil es mir zu viel um Aspekte ging, die für mich keine wirkliche Bedeutung hatten.

Total begeistert bin ich auch vom (englischsprachigen) Sprecher. Die Aussprache ist kristallklar und abwechslungsreich. Dies ist das erste englischsprachige Hörbuch, in dem ich meist vergessen kann, dass es nicht auf Deutsch ist.

So, nun muss ich mir den Folgeteil herunterladen. Der 1. Teil geht bald zuende. ;)
