It is a fascinating account of the season of the great arctic and antarctic explorations made more personal by focusing on the human tragedies and triumphs aboard HMS Erebus and Terror.
Very well read by Michael Palin and very engaging until the very last word.

what an absolutely fascinating book, read with Michael Palins outstanding story telling skills. His book may well lead readers to do follow on reading about this remarkable mission, when one starts to look for the locations on a map you start to get a perspective and scale for a journey that was all but impossible but so nearly achieved.

Fascinating book, very well put together and expertly told.
