As the pair begin to make enquiries of Lord Riddlethorpe’s servants and guests, it seems that, below stairs and above, there is more to this case than meets the eye. And, even in the quiet of the countryside, death is always just around the bend.

Elizabeth Knowelden is the perfect choice to read the book, varies her voice so that you can well imagine the people she speaks.
The story itself is hilarious and mysterious as all Lady Hardcastle stories. Till the end it's not really clear who's done it I love the author's sense of humour and, as a German, I also love the puns and plays on words.
Lady Hardcastle and her "tiny" servant, whose more like a friend to her, are my darlings.
