Pratchettesque
Intricate, very creative world full of charme, memorable characters, humor and sadness. Loved it. Speaker also does a great job. Can see this one becoming a classic. Very much worth getting.

sold writing
one of the best written novels i have read ths year. the subject was not my cup of tee, but the writing was done so well that i listened to the whole thing

A new and original addition to the fantasy genre
An interesting portrait of a city and many of its diverse and complex characters with tense and gripping plot development, overflowing with new ideas and angles on old tropes in the genre.
