C.A.E.C.O. is book 15 in best-selling author John Conroe's Demon Accords series.

Combat is literally her middle name. Chimeric Adaptive Enhanced Combat Operator - but now Caeco Jensen - works for the FBI, building a new life and trying to learn from a painful past. It’s hard to fit in when you are one of a kind, but maybe, just maybe, there’s a place for her in this world. That is, if threats from off planet don’t ruin it first. Forging and protecting a new future with a her unique skillset won’t be easy, maybe almost as hard as making new friends.

This is more a side story than a continuation of the main plot.
We are following the side character Caeco on a mission which spans over the entirety of this audiobook.

I was disappointed by this as this sequel was not advertised as a side story and I thus expected a sequel like the previous ones - focussing on the established and very interesting protagonists, adding meaningful content to the plotline.

However, the protagonists barely show up in this story - the only one's that we do see in action for a short period of time is Decklin (witch boy) and his girlfriend (white wolf girl).

That's probably the reason why there was only little development concerning the main plot. The author could have summed this up in 2 hours easily.

It's ofcourse not all bad. It was interesting to view the "world" from another person's perspective but again; it felt like a filler episode.

As a fan of this series I would like the author shifting his focus back to the "relevant and interesting" parts of this series.

Everything considered, I can't give a clear recommendation for this sequel. If you like Caeco and find her character interesting than go for it, you'll probably like it. If not.. you may as well skip this one. It doesn't really add that much relevant content to the plot line.
