Über diesen Titel
From Joshua Dalzelle, author of the best-selling Omega Force series, comes an all new vision of humanity's future.
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy? Would humanity fold and surrender, or would they return to their evolutionary roots and meet force with force?
One ship - and one captain - will soon be faced with this very choice.

Great story, a lot of action

Good, classic space opera that could have used some fine-tuning.
Long Version:
The story is as classic as you can imagine. A good, honorable and brilliant protagonist must take on an invincible enemy and at the same time prevail against resistance from his own ranks.
This is the recipe for many good and even more terrible stories.
Here we have a representative from the upper midfield.
My biggest criticism:
The protagonist's backstory is not particularly well developed. Why is he so brilliant and the only one who has a plan of tactics? This is a bit strange since it's clearly described why everyone else doesn't have a plan. Simply because it's not necessary. This simplicity is wonderful! But couldn't he have at least played chess or been interested in history? Because there was no need for him to have that knowledge either.
Two to three paragraphs of explanation spread across the three books would have been enough for me.
To the positive:
I like the descriptions of the aliens and their motivations. Some of it even has depth and still leaves room for your own ideas. I also like the way the characters' appearance is described. Everything necessary has been said without drowning in meaningless details.
In addition, the narrator is well chosen. He has a pleasant voice and conveys both accents and dialects well. The audio quality was a bit difficult here and there, but that could also be because I'm not a native speaker.
All in all, it was a pleasant 24 hours that I would definitely recommend to fans of the classic space opera. However, newcomers to the topic may search for "The Lost Fleet" (pun intended) and come back to earth a little later.
I'm still undecided whether I'll get the other two trilogies. In my opinion, the story is complete and the description of the other books doesn't seem like a good addition.
