This was my first read by Pam Godwin, and I have mixed feelings. After reading Priest—an absolute masterpiece—I was intrigued by the promising plot of this book. It started out strong, with an engaging setup that hooked me right away.

However, around the 50–60% mark, I found myself struggling to connect with either character. The spicy scenes, which I had high hopes for, didn’t quite deliver the intensity or originality I expected. By the end, the plot became cheesy and predictable, losing the tension it started with.

The narrators’ voices suited the characters perfectly, but the overall delivery of the audiobook wasn’t particularly remarkable.
