Das Buch war weniger klischeebehaftet als gedacht. Es wurde sich schon mit dem Altersunterschied beschäftigt und die Handlung wirkte sehr realistisch. Werde mir das Buch definitiv noch kaufen.

Gutes Buch

das war mein erster P. Douglas. Den Plot fand ich interessant uns sie scheint ja viele Fans zu haben. Ich weiss nicht so recht warum. Den Schreibstil fand ich unterdurchschnittlich, die Chemie zwischen den beiden Protagonisten fehlte, die Protagonisten waren charakterfrei, die Geschichte vollständig absehbar. Sexszenen gibt es in hoher Quantität bei geringer Qualität. Probleme, die echt hätten welche sein können, waren dann doch zu schnell glatt gebügelt. Trotzdem lässt sich das Buch flüssig durchhören. Und weil das Wetter heute so schön war geb ich 3 Sterne.

Age-gap, boyfriend's father, slow burn... when I first read the reviews for this book I was a bit scared to read it. I thought for sure I would hate it. But I ended up loving it instead.
Jordan is an old soul, a very mature 19 year old that has been constantly ignored or left by almost all significant people in her life: her mom left when she was 7, her dad stayed but he ignored her, her sister moved out and is constantly encouraging her to work in a strio club with her, her first boyfriend turned out to be an abusive jerk, one of her best friends died and the other, Cole, became her boyfriend but he cheated on her and was always unreliable. When she moves with Cole into his father's house, it's the first time she meets a reliable adult. Pike is 38, has his own business, he's responsible and strong.
Their love develops slowly over the course of 1 month, where they are mostly alone and Cole is almost always absent, leaving Jordan to help around the house.
I liked both Jordan and Pike a lot. They are both solid and real, with good parts and flaws, with dreams and desires. The author does a great job in building their friendship and with it, the sexual tension. There is no cheating on Jordan's side. Her relationship with Pike happens only after she and Cole split up on account of him cheating.
Of course, there is the grey area with Pike being Cole's father. And, as the story is told, I thought that more than 1 month had passed until they became lovers but no. Also, there is one evening where Jordan decides to stay away from Pike because she understands that he could lose his son over this, but then, in the space of a couple of hours, she changes her mind and goes full-on after him. This baffled me a little but hey, she's 19.
The author deals really well with some real issues of this kind of relationship: what the age difference could mean in the future, building a new family at the age of 38, town gossip, the betrayal that Cole felt.
The audio was amazing as well. The narrators did a great job.
This is a must read for adult audiences that love age-gap tabboo romances.

If you are into hotness and forbidden romance, this is your cup of tea. Is not a bad book but the boyfriend's dad is just not my thing.

Im Ganzen eine wunderschöne Liebesgeschichte und kein Kapitel möchte ich hier missen. Einzig das Ende war für meinen Geschmack zu gehetzt, nachdem man so viele Seiten lang die Entwicklung mitverfolgen konnte. Hier hätte ich mir ein wenig mehr gewünscht nachdem sich die Beiden unmittelbar gefunden haben.

Ich fand das Buch nicht schlecht... Es war von Anfang an sehr absehbar, was auf der einen Seite klar ist aber es geschah dann doch sehr wenig nebenbei. Es ist gut geschrieben und für dazwischen gut aber das wars!

Am Anfang war es sehr schwer für mich reinkommen. Es hat sehr lange gedauert bis ich eine Verbindung mit den 2 Hauptcharaktere gefunden habe. Aber das warten hat sich gelohnt. Seit lang habe ich nicht so ein tolles und nervenzereißendes Buch gelesen/gehört. Ich habe mitgefiebert, die Charaktere teilweise angeschrieben, geweint und gelacht. Bis in die letze Sekunde war ich gespannt und voller Leidenschaft. Die Chemie der beiden Hauptcharaktere hat perfekt zusammen gepasst. Das einzige was mir nicht gefallen hat war die Stimme der weiblichen Leserin, aber nach eineiigen Kapiteln habe ich mich an diese gewöhnt.
Es war ein tolles Erlebnis diese Geschichte hören zu dürfen
