Do you believe in love at first sight?

Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. Enter Vince Taylor.

Vince is everything Paul isn't: Sexy, confident, and dumber than the proverbial box of rocks. And for some reason, Vince pursues Paul relentlessly. Vince must be messing with him, because there is no way Vince could want someone like Paul.

But when Paul hits Vince with his car - in a completely unintentional if-he-died-it'd-only-be-manslaughter kind of way - he's forced to see Vince in a whole new light. The only thing stopping Paul from believing in Vince is himself - and that is one obstacle Paul can't quite seem to overcome. so much more colourful and cheerful than the cover suggests. very funny - also due to the speaker. a bit sad in parts, too, but just a lovely bunch of characters, lots of love, insecurities, cringe and fun.
definitely recommend.

still amazing listening to it the second time. just one warning: the phrase "to Freddy Prince Jr. somebody" will become part of your life xD

Eventhough the cover didn't speak to me at all, the very good reviews did!

First of all, Michael Lesley does such a good job performing the story! He gives every character the perfect voice in a very entertaining way and he does this perfect pause after each chapter which gives you time to digest the heard and get ready for what comes next.

Second, the story is so sweet, the characters so lovely and everything works just very nicely! I have listened to "The Lightning-Struck Heart" by TJ Klune already and fell in love with how the author writes immediately and I am even more so after listening to "Tell me it's real". You feel like you really know the characters and you wish you could be their friends or even their neighbours :D

I can only highly recommend this audio book! It's just so good :)

Die Geschichte war unterhaltsam. Aber teilweise auch anstrengend und über dramatisch. Ich denke nicht, dass ich mir die nächsten Teile anhören werde. Die Charakter sind liebevoll gestaltet und der Sprecher macht einen guten Job
