Daniel Mulligan is tough, snarky, and tattooed, hiding his self-consciousness behind sarcasm. Daniel has never fit in - not at home in Philadelphia with his auto mechanic father and brothers, and not at school where his Ivy League classmates looked down on him. Now, Daniel's relieved to have a job at a small college in Holiday, Northern Michigan, but he's a city boy through and through, and it's clear that this small town is one more place he won't fit in.

Rex Vale clings to routine to keep loneliness at bay: honing his muscular body, perfecting his recipes, and making custom furniture. Rex has lived in Holiday for years, but his shyness and imposing size have kept him from connecting with people.

Roan Parrish ist definitiv eine Entdeckung! Ich war sofort ein Fan der Story und des Schreibstils. Die Hauptfiguren sind interessant, liebenswert und zauberhaft gezeichnet. Ich höre seit Tagen diese Serie im Marathon und kann kaum den Folgeteil abwarten.

Wundervolle emotionale Geschichte

Es handelt sich hier um eine eher seichte schwule Romanze. Aber sie ist mit einigem Witz geschrieben...und mit sehr viel prickelnder Erotik. Die Beschreibung der erotischen Szenen kommt auch nicht plump und vulgär daher...sondern da wurden sehr bedachte Worte gewählt. Und der geniale Sprecher liest das alle mit so viel Gefühl, dass man selbst... aber lassen wir das. Überdies ist der Sprecher auch noch gut zu verstehen...wenn man denn beizeiten sein Englisch gepflegt hat. Irgendwie scheint es ja verpönt zu sein, sowas Schwules ins Deutsche zu übersetzen.
Ach, und liebenswerte Tiere wurde auch nicht ausgespart. Im ersten Teil ist es ein cooler Hund.
Also....kann man empfehlen...aber für euch verkrampfte Heteros ist das eher nichts. *Smile*

Die Story zw. Daniel und Rex ist wirklich nett aber an vielen Stellen zu langatmig. Manche innere Betrachtungen ziehen sich wie Kaugummi. Für viele Umstände fehlt auch bis zum Ende die Erklärung.
Robert Nieman macht einen guten Job, wobei er doch eher liest als die Figuren wirklich zu verkörpern.
Die anderen Teile der Serie drehen sich nicht mehr um Daniel und Rex, sondern um zwei andere Personen, die man im ersten Teil kennengelernt hat. Außerdem ist der Sprecher ein anderer. Ich stelle das mal zurück bis ich nichts anderes mehr zu hören habe.
