Once upon a time, in an alleyway in the slums of the City of Lockes, a young and somewhat lonely boy named Sam Haversford turns a group of teenage douchebags into stone completely by accident.

Ich hatte zuerst das Buch gelesen bevor ich das Hörbuch gekauft habe, also wusste ich, dass die Story gut ist. Jedoch hatte ich bei Hörbüchern bisher immer Pech gehabt. Da ich noch nicht so gut englisch verstehe ( ich kann es sehr gut lesen) müsste ich den Sprecher auch wirklich verstehen können. Das war das erste Hörbuch, dass mir wirklich gefallen hat. Es kam nur selten vor, dass ich etwas akustisch nicht verstanden habe.

Deshalb fünf Sterne

Am Anfang dachte ich, dass es mir ein bisschen zu drüber ist.
Aber ich habe mich super schnell an die Charaktere und den Sprecher gewöhnt. Das Buch passt so perfekt zusammen. Ich musste laut lachen und ich hatte herzschmerzen. Absolut absurd im besten Sinne.
Es lohnt sich.

I have to admit that I never heard of TJ Klune before I stumbled over this gem of a book. I also have to admit that it took me a little time before I hit the purchase button after reading the other reviews. I am so glad I did!
It also took me a longer while to adjust to the repetitive „he said/she said“… I won’t lie it is irritating af in some parts… still, the story and the narrator are so worth pushing through this.
The narration is brilliant and I truly enjoyed everything about this book.
I truly found something unexpected in the dark woods!

as always, TJ klune didnt let anyone down regarding the story. i loved every single Bit of it, the puns, the Humor, the Drama and everything else too.
i admit that i started the audiobook while beeing a little scared since im not that much into fantasy, but i guess i can put fantasy on my Genre list now. im absolutely in love and i definitly can only recommend this book and author to anyone that likes to read things with strong characters, a well written story and, of course, the best level of Humor, Sex puns.
