Such a good book! Started slow and kept me curious. Then the story started to get interesting and then I was hooked until the last minute.
10 outta 10. Would recommend!

A bit like the ruby red series by Kerstin Gier. Also reminds me here and there a bit of Six of Crows. I am excited to find out where it will go.

One small thing that bugged me: I guessed the boy that killed the man right from the beginning. That was a bit predictable.

The idea of time traveling and all that it can become is fascinating. And if I ever get over some of the simple content, storyline and childish behaviors (she tried to kill me but I will drink with her anyways…) I might continue listening.
She worked so so hard. So very hard. So hard to achieve it all… 4 short weeks. Visiting France 225 years ago without proper language and accent schooling? Safe return options are all singular, no redundancies, no safety nets, no proper security, extremely limited time frames and 100 unknowns and risks. Sadly it kills the excitement of „what if“. Its like sending an agent into unknown hostile territory with only proper clothing and nothing else. It all feels like a 20 year old wrote it with focus on mostly the optics and little technicalities.

I like very much the descriptions of art and style. History and the like. Its stimulates the listeners mental pictures. If she put that effort into the technicalities of „the project“ it would be a must listen. So its just a can listen, fun, easy but a bit „stupid“.
