Ich kann kaum stark genug betonen wie furchtbar diese Sprecherin ist. Meine Empfehlung: lest das Buch, hört es nicht.

Ich finde den Titel super, Aber wer hier deep und meaningful Scifi erwartet ist hier falsch. Der Mensch der was von 50 Shades of grey geschrieben hat in der Rezession hat offensichtlich keins der beiden bücher je gelesen anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären. Dieses Buch ist leichte entspannte Unterhaltung. Eine starker weiblicher Hauptcharakter mit unterhaltsamen sidekick, nebenbei entwickelt sich eine lovestory, die aber meines erachtens nicht übertrieben in den Mittelpunkt gestellt wird.
Ich empfehle das Buch allen, vorwiegend weiblichen Lesern, die eine entspannte geschichte mir starker Heldin hören wollen. Worldbuilding und Charakterbuilding find ich super und wirkt auch bücher später immernoch durchdacht.

The story was great. The protagonist is clever, capable and believable. The sidekick Jin is absolutely amazing. I was definitely entertained well and laughed out loud multiple times. Unfortunately the narrator completely ruins the book with her “male” voices. Her voice was good for the parts in female voice, but her attempts to sound male is like a cheese grater on my brain. I could barely concentrate on what the male characters were saying - especially the love interest; he was the worst one. It sounds like she had the worst throat infection in the universe, smoked chain on a night long metal concert and then proceeded to consume bolts and screws as cereal for breakfast before starting to record those parts. Seriously. Why don’t some narrators understand how irritating that is? Completely ruined the whole experience for me. Halfway through I switched to reading the book, which is definitely great; so I do recommend, but just read it and don’t listen if something like that ticks you off like it does me.

Awesome Story - Horrible Reader

It was a little hard for me to dive into the story at the beginning but when I started to understand what was actually going on I couldn’t stop.
I especially love how emotional the experience was for me. In my eyes the speaker is awesome with this kind of tragic story. I absolutely look forward to the next part.
The story isn’t lighthearted and the mix of writing style and speaker is absolutely awesome in my eyes. Or well ears.

Loved it in the end

After completing the Kris Longknife and On Silver Wings series I was looking for something new and interesting to pick up, the snippet for this book seemed quite interesting. Here's what to expect from it:

The good:
- Kira and her robot are quite memorable and relatable, good mix between hero and anti hero.
- Interesting abilities and characters
- Pleasant narrator voice

The bad:
- Probably the most predicable story I've read and listened to in years, literally every "major" development was announced hours ahead.
- Almost all characters sound the same, hard to differentiate in a conversation between two or more people
- Almost no Sci-Fi elements, more steamy romance than action, and the only space battle was solved in less than 5 Minutes.

The neutral:
- Focus on characters instead of action
- Decent world building and enough meat on the story to make it believable.

All in all a good experience for bridging the time to my main releases.

Sprecherin klingt manchmal etwas gebetsmühlenartig, die Männerstimmen z.t. übertrieben kratzig.. Trotzdem freue ich mich auf die Fortsetzung!

überraschend interessante Geschichte!

Ich habe die derzeit vorhandenen ersten drei Teile der Firebird Chronicles verschlungen und danach direkt alle drei gleich noch mal angehört. Die Mischung aus SciFi mit magischen Fähigkeiten hat mich sofort in den Bann geschlagen. Die Sprecherin macht die Geschichte wunderbar lebendig.

Started as a Sci-fi story ended up so cheesy and dripping with desire and romance, I had to check I didn't accidentally listened to 50 shades of grey. Grandma might have liked it.

Mag sein, dass die Geschichte Potential hat, aber die Sprecherin ist derart grauenhaft - vor allem die männlichen Stimmen! - ich musste nach etwa einem Drittel abbrechen. Der Schreibstil der Autorin war auch nicht so mein Fall - der Name der Protagonistin kam in etwa in jedem dritten Satz vor.
