On Tempris, time magic is outlawed, and suspected time mages are hunted. Humans are second-class citizens, shunned by the immortal fey that live on the island. They even have a name for their kind: Shardless.

But when an accidental brush with magic causes her to see things - ghostly apparitions that give her small glimpses into the future - it has deadly consequences. It’s a Romance where the relationship is on a equal level. I love the Romance between them.

The World is thought out and the story sucks you in it’s a really good Romance story better then most other.

Stephanie Fisher is a superb author and this book is such a strong start to a series. Taly is a strong female character that is also emotionally aware and steeped in common humanity. She has weaknesses that, instead of detracting from her strength, simply make me appreciate more. And her relationship with Skye is just *chef's kiss*. The author was able to captivate and demonstrate a 15yrar relationship as best friends without an over dependence on flashbacks and badgering how heads in.

As for the audio, Elizabeth Evans reads books out loud the way I read them in my head and can there be anything greater than that?

I cannot wait to start the second book!

I just finished this...
I loved everything about it. The characters were were awesome and funny with all their banter.
And the worldbuilding and the story were very well written. I can't wait to continue this series immerdately.

Sehr empfehlenswert! Fand alles klasse. Sehr gut ausgearbeitete Geschichte und Charaktere. Sehr kurzweilig und auch Humor.

positives: best friends to lovers trope was cute
negatives: I can't help it, but I don't like Taly. I felt like she was behaving really weirdly sometimes. Leaving the family that took care of her without saying a word was so ungrateful (she could have at least left a letter). She is always always having this saviour complex where she thinks she is protecting others but she does it without plan and than other people that love her are just suffering because of it. The narrator was good but I didn't like the voice of Sky, because he didn't sound male at all.

The fist portion of the book eas good, but the more the book progressed the order it got. The FMC was immature and had a real problem with communication. On one hand she tried to be independent and bad ass but on the other hand didn't snap that all of her "successes" in the book were through teamwork. The lack of communication was astounding and was rhe biggest problem of all!!
On the plus, the magic system was interesting and I wished more would have been mentioned about the gates. That angle had so much potential,
So the speaker was fine, performance good but the story had me wanting more and less :/
