Beck Michaels does an amazing job of building up a world and a storyline without hitting you with endless exposition. The pov from different characters is well thought out and definitely shines some light on why certain people act the way they do. I am thoroughly looking forward to the continuation of this series.

The voice actors do a great job on their chapters. I actually came across this series because I really appreciated listening to Aaron Shedlock in a different series. I highly recommend it :)

Amazing worldbuilding

I think the VAs are American, and I love the tone and colour of their own voices when they narrate lines. But the dialogue is (I think) done in several versions of British-based accents and some that i couldn’t place. The British/irish/scottish ones sounded very stereotypical and it just pulled me from the story. so I DNF’ed at about 50%.

The accents pulled me out of the story.

This series is getting better with every book! I love the narration and the story itself. As far as I know this will be a 5 book series 3 are out right now and I hardly can wait for the next part. (Will come to audible March 31st 2026)

I stopped listening after a few hours. The book starts with a cliche dream opening and later the history is revealed in one huge chunk. The narrators are great, but then I don’t understand why the male main character and his father act the way they act. Why risk so much for a person you just met?
