Am relevantesten

I am entranced by The Liar's Crown. Although the Abigail Owen does not go super in-depth into the why's and hows of the magic in the book, it is not necessary and what she does explain keeps the plot moving. The world and dominions and the magic inherent to each Dominion was really interesting and I really liked hearing about each one.

Our main Girl Marron (forgive spelling. I refuse to look up how to spell these names because typing on the phone is hard enough) is an appropriate amount of savvy and naive, although I got both the impression that she snuck out a lot while also being told that she was rarely able to get away. That could just be bad listening on my part. But she's a likeable and relatable character and it's nice to see some development on her part but also the lack of development. I actually quite like that because, timeline-wise, it would've been amazingly unrealistic if she became an undefeatable warrior princess, so I appreciate that she is still learning her way.

Revan plays the part of broody shadow-daddy just fine although it was sorta difficult to see how he became interested in Marron. Obviously there was that annoy-you-til-you-like-me relationship but the fall hard and fast on his side wasn't exactly spelled out. I feel like I filled in a lot of that on my side as an extensive romance reader. All shadow daddies have their secrets and Revan is no exception. Not gonna lie, I'm really hoping the sequel has some actual extended conversations between these two characters that involves more than one or both of them walking off or walking in silence.

Another thing, something I didn't realize until about chapter 50-something....this had unexpected Romeo and Juliet vibes. Two houses divided? Check. Whirlwind romance? Check. Tragic separation? Checkity check check.

As a total vibe reader though, I loved listening to ever second and I can't wait to listen or read the sequel. There are so many questions I would like answered and it was such a pleasure to listen to!
