Wow, never expected to love this book and the whole Duology as much. After I had finished the Alina Starkov trilogy I was hesitant to read more out of fear that it would somehow ruin my perception of this world but damn, it did the very opposite. I actually found all of these characters much more enjoyable than Alina. The jumping perspectives really give the reader a full and facetted understanding of the world and the characters and I ended up loving all of them. Every character feels real and different from the rest and the plot was fast-paced and a great read. All the narrators also did a great job. Thanks Leigh!

Eine Heist Story der Extraklasse mit spannenden Stimmen und außergewöhnlichen Charakteren. Auch ohne die Bücher rund um Alina Starkov und das Grishaverse zu kennen, macht der Plot Spaß!

Although there are several main characters, all of them are detailed and with good backgroundstories. A bit difficult to understand in some parts for a non-native speaker but the story is great! I also really like the voices of the speakers. The changing speakers for the different characters are an interesting idea.

This was my first time ever hearing about the trilogy and what can I say? Owing to a bad tonsillitis, I had the time to binge listen to this story. The performance of the speakers was impeccable. Every character was read by another voice - all a perfect fit. The story itself was gripping, though a bit chaotic in the end (and a good amount of cheesiness).
I can highly recommend everyone to give this audio book a try!

I really enjoyed this book and can understand why it became so popular. The setting and world-building supports the characters and their backstories fantastically. The characters are truly the highlight of the entire book. Perhaps about the character’s ages one has to suspend one’s disbelief. The weakest points are some of the details of the schemes and plans, but overall this seems less important in this very character-driven story. The voice performances were fantastic, only Jasper’s storyline was sometimes a bit harder to follow, as the narrator put less effort in indicating when another character was speaking. But it was a very enjoyable listen overall!

Everyone who loves complex, three dimensional characters, a well thought out plot with unexpected twists, and fast paced heist stories will love this book.

We get a detailed back story about each of the protagonists, and as different as their backgrounds and the characters themselves are, the author manages to make their deep bonds with one another believable. It's great fun to watch them finding their way out of the predicaments they find themselves in whenever things happen that are beyond their control, both during their preparations for the heist, with unexpected, dangerous, and sometimes life-threatening encounters at every turn, and during the heist itself.

Once I had settled in for this I couldn't put it down and finished it within two days - fortunately, I had started reading on a Friday. Unfortunately, it ends on a cliffhanger and I had to wait for six months to find out the rest of the story, so if you like the start, maybe you should make sure to have Crooked Kingdom on hand before you finish this one.

The hardcover edition is breathtakingly beautiful, and I ended up getting the audiobook in addition to the printed edition so I could more easily take it along while traveling AND continue listening where I'd left off reading while doing household chores or driving. All in all, I have easily read/listened to this ten times in the year since I got Six of Crows.

The voice artists for the audio book are perfectly suited for their roles, easily distinguishable, and have apparently also been taught what they need to know about Fjerdan, the language spoken at their target location, by the author herself. Each of them not only reads but performs their part, and I can warmly recommend it.

The speakers narrate the story in a vivid and captivating manner. I love the way they narrate the story of the characters, while also imitating the other characters voices.

The story itself is very interesting, as it incoportates a cast of diverse and complex characters and a world with magical elements as well as cultural inspirations from russian culture as well as skandinavian culture. If you like stories with a friend group, as well as characters, which are morally gray and love stories with immersive world building, then I would recommend giving this story a try!
