Am relevantesten

Everyone who loves complex, three dimensional characters, a well thought out plot with unexpected twists, and fast paced heist stories will love this book.

We get a detailed back story about each of the protagonists, and as different as their backgrounds and the characters themselves are, the author manages to make their deep bonds with one another believable. It's great fun to watch them finding their way out of the predicaments they find themselves in whenever things happen that are beyond their control, both during their preparations for the heist, with unexpected, dangerous, and sometimes life-threatening encounters at every turn, and during the heist itself.

Once I had settled in for this I couldn't put it down and finished it within two days - fortunately, I had started reading on a Friday. Unfortunately, it ends on a cliffhanger and I had to wait for six months to find out the rest of the story, so if you like the start, maybe you should make sure to have Crooked Kingdom on hand before you finish this one.

The hardcover edition is breathtakingly beautiful, and I ended up getting the audiobook in addition to the printed edition so I could more easily take it along while traveling AND continue listening where I'd left off reading while doing household chores or driving. All in all, I have easily read/listened to this ten times in the year since I got Six of Crows.

The voice artists for the audio book are perfectly suited for their roles, easily distinguishable, and have apparently also been taught what they need to know about Fjerdan, the language spoken at their target location, by the author herself. Each of them not only reads but performs their part, and I can warmly recommend it.
