As good as the first book

The story is really well-plotted and the characters and their relationships are just fantastic in this series. I can't help suspecting that the recording was made in a rush, though. Lauren Fortgang, Elizabeth Evans, and whoever reads Kaz's chapters are amazing, but all the narrators between them slip up remarkably often when it comes to pronouncing names, and apparently it wasn't thought necessary to correct this. I also feel that often, their intonation doesn't correspond with the action at all, as though they weren't really paying attention to what they were reading. Jesper's and Wylan's chapters are at times read with such clear enunciation, it sounds halting. The book is still a joy to listen to, but these incongruities are quite noticeable.

Eigentlich super, das es verschiedene Sprecher gibt. Aber ich hatte das Gefühl, als ob diese sich vorher nicht abgesprochen hätten. Wylan's Interpretation von Kaz Stimme war nicht zu vergleichen mit Inej's und Kaz. Das war furchtbar irritierend (und Akzente haben auch gefehlt)
Das Buch selbst ist aber wundervoll, wie der erste.

its literally one of the best stories I read. I kinda got obsessed with it. This was my fourth relisten and I prob start right at the beginning again (after I read the pysical books for the first time too this year). I really like that there are different voice actors for the different characters. It really supports the chapter design.

I’d say it’s rare that a sequel, even though it was probably planned from the beginning, is better than the original book. But here it really is the case. I already really liked the first book, but this one even better. I absolutely love the characters and character development and the depiction of their relationships! That really is the absolute strength of the book. The plot with all its twist and turns was exciting too, even though I find heist-like plots always a bit questionable. But it works in the big picture. I can only recommend this book! The narrators were all great as well!

I love this book! really awesome and unpredictable plottwists, interesting characters and good representations of things like PTSD and other traumas. 10/10 can definitely recommend
