Über diesen Titel
A Warhammer Horror novel.
Take a nightmare journey into a plague-wracked city where monsters stalk the streets and nothing can be trusted...including the memories of the protagonist.
Morgravia Sanctus is being hunted; why or by whom she doesn't know. Something terrible has happened to her, a profound trauma that has left behind ‘red dreams’ and a physical agony that can strike at any moment. Her life in danger and her memory fragmented, she arrives in the low-hive of Blackgheist to escape her pursuers and search for ‘the Broker’ – a trafficker in memories and psychic mind manipulation. Soon after, a plague sweeps the city, turning its citizens into blood-hungry monsters. Order collapses, death and slaughter are rampant. Caught up in the carnage, Morgravia must flee once more. But as the ravening spreads, is there any hope of stopping this contagion?
©2019 Games Workshop Limited (P)2019 Games Workshop LimitedFor being a "horror story" the only horror is the boredom.
The the gruesome scenes and betrayals seme firced and uninspired, just for the sake of *being grimdark*, not evoking real emotion. Characters are flat and one dimensional. Twists are quite forseeable.
The Narrator is grating - with a very limited range, but no awereness were to stop at her limit.
Boring, forced story and terrible VoiceActress

Everything else is just an endless stream of non essential padding with very little to no actual relevance to the central plot point exposed in the end.
Characters are very one dimensional and bland. Many seem to have no purpose beyond filling pages with pointless dialogue eventually getting killed or removed. The plot twists, which we have only a very few of, are fairly obvious with the timing being the only variant. You know A will betray B eventually, you just don't know when. The last plot twist is the only interesting aspect of this book and, hinted at before, but fairly competently executed. Unfortunately it at about 90% of the book making the actual interesting part a very brief experience.
The narration is competent although as always it's difficult for a female narrator to mimic a male voice and vice versa
A chore to listen to
