The Story:

after completing the novel i felt empty. not in a bad way however: the journey was absolutely entangling. the story about a former warrior priest being caught by his own past and witnessing sheer horror in the swamplands with an ancient sinister entity ruling over mortals and nature alike caught me and did not let me go. Sigmar protects! ...in one way or another...

Während der ganzen Geschichte kommt nicht einmal etwas wie Spannung auf, von Horror ganz zu schweigen. Kein Sympathieträger. Eigentlich hofft man die ganze Zeit, das der ewig nörgelnde, melancholische, unzufriedene Blackwood endlich ins Gras beisst.
In einem schmutzigen Sumpfgebiet bekämpfen sich eine alte Göttin und ein noch älterer Gott. Warum Blackwood da jetzt unbedingt hin musste, wird nicht wirklich klar.
Nicht das es interessiert.
Jake Urry liest die Geschichte abwechselnd, als ob er gezwungen wurde, keine Lust hat , stoned ist oder gleich einschläft.
Für mich war das hier eine Enttäuschung auf ganzer Linie
