... the reader is awful. I made it about three hours in before I couldn't bare it anymore. It's not the accent or the tempo, but the constantly changing loudness of the narration. Dialogue is either spoken very loudly or as a barely audible whisper. The narrations are also very quiet but will often vary in loudness mid sentence. Listening to this with background noises like while driving is impossible.

It's a shame, because I really enjoy Reynolds' work and have listened to a lot of his books read by John Lee. I guess I'll have to resort to actually reading this one.

noticeable british accent, somewhat oldschool sci-fi in its vagueness, not completely conclusive. No great insights.

leider habe ich es nicht länger als 1 Std ausgehalten der Dame zuzuhören... mir gefällt ihre Stimme und ihre Art gar nicht.

Daher kann ich leider gar nichts über die Geschichte/Story an sich sagen. andere Bücher des Autors haben mich regelrecht gefesselt.

Ja, das ist ein sehr subjektives Urteil, anderen mag die Stimme und Art gefallen.
