This Story focuses in one of the Side characters of pt.1 I Had great hopes, because he was so snarky and everything, but you absolutely neeeed a contrast characters (so that one ist the brooding and one the witty one). That was not the case here. And while we encounter a different "and Here are the very human problems people face when in love, because we are all human", theres also so very, very much horniness.
A bit of a drag, because I am asexual, and while it's all very thoughtfully written the Story falls a bit to the wayside unfortunately.

Feels like puzzling on a winter day. Somewhat gritty medieval style fantasy, reminds me a bit of TP’s nightwatch series with less tongue in cheek humour and more romance.
I really enjoyed the maturity of the characters. Getting to the age where it’s strange only reading about young 20 somethings 😋

Just a good book

T. Kingfisher has done it again! A delightful, though deep story of two people (and thank the saint they’re 36 & 40 respectively) who overcome outside obstacles, as well as their own inhabitants and fears. Also there are bears!!!! I love bears! <3 Kingfisher might be my favorite author of the year.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one. But it was still very enjoyable! I enjoyed how the mystery was continued! Will continue with book 3!

Sweet and funny and keeps getting better as you go. Loved it and can highly recommend for a feel good read. Romance and magic are both subtle but integral to the story. Good starter if you are interested in transitioning from romantasy to fantasy, especially if you like a fairytale feel. Action and mystery are also well done and not overwhelming. Thought it was a bit a long but great continuation of the series.

Eine tolle Fantasy Romance Geschichte mit endlich mal erwachsen Protagonisten, die auch deutlich über ihr Alter und das dazugehörige sprechen. Kein Altersunterschied von mehreren Jahrhunderten und auch kein blutjunges Ding, das den alten grummeligen Mann umdreht. Sondern zwei gleich grummelige Personen, in ähnlichen Lebenssituationen und ähnlichem Alter. Und das eingebettet in eine interessante und toll erzählte Fantasygeschichte.

Endlich richtig erwachse Protagonisten

I love Istvhan and Claras dynamic, they´re both so interesting. And so funny. I love some cross-country adventures, and seeing the new city was really interesting. The parallels between both of them, so good. And so many loveable side characters! Again, T. Kingfisher is amazing.

I love the Saint of Steel Series so far andhade high hopes for the books to come. The MCs are likably odd and not at all similar to the ones from the previous book. The narrator is amazing it the whole book went by way to fast

What a blast

...wenn nicht die Hälfte des Textes aus dem sexuellen Frust der beiden Protagonisten bestehen würde. Im ersten Buch war das noch knapp erträglich und von der Geschichte her halbwegs nachvollziehbar. Hier ist es wirklich mühsam und das dritte Buch habe ich abgebrochen, als ich gemerkt habe, dass es wieder dieselbe Leier ist. Eigentlich schade, denn es geht tatsächlich auch ohne (z.B. Defensive Baking von derselben Autorin finde ich genial).
