Piper is a lich-doctor, a physician who works among the dead, determining causes of death for the city guard's investigations. I can’t get enough of T.Kingfishers works. They are so captivating, funny and cozy. And they have a heartwarming inclusivity that leaves the listeners/readers with great hope.

Viele interessante Aspekte. Das “will they-won’t they “ ist irgendwie in allen Büchern gleich. Aber insgesamt eine interessante Backstory.

Piper is, while still having the kindness and GUILT of all the other paladins, in a lot of ways so different. In a way, he seems less serious, but then he has a different relationship to the death of his god. He´s flirty and fun and sweet and kind and brave. Piper, also, was such a wonderful character. I liked their dynamic a lot, and I love that we got to see more about gnoles with Earstruck. I love the gnoles!! They´re so funny. Such a wonderful book again!

I truly loved part one and two of this series. for some reason part 3 didn't strike me as amazing as the other ones. It was still really good, the narrator still did an amazing job. but the story wasn't as much if a home run as the other two.
the plot is solid, but it seems that T. Kingfisher has a set pattern if love story she follows and by now it is quite predictable. I hope the next one breaks that pattern a bit

I'm so glad I stumbled on the Saint of Steel series and I'd recommend you to start with the 1st book, since the story builds up book by book (even if they are individual enough to jump in anywhere (I guess) each book with a different paladin as one of the two MCs, and with a new adventure/ challenge in each book).

I enjoy the well mixed combination of action /adventure / challenges, and feelings/ passion /love, humor (I have even laughed out loud by myself at times while listening at home), and all the different characters (main & supporting characters) are so well pictured (without long daunting descriptions) I feel like I know them.

The reader is still excellent. Such a lovely deep voice. Good pace. In my opinion the reader got a good set of different dialogue voices too, wish makes it even easier to dive into the story.

It's so refreshing that this 3rd book was with MCs of same gender, so it's not only the classic male + female MC each and every book. I wonder what the 4th will be!

I also like the balance between the big issue problem solving adventure vs the sweet cute love stories (this goes for all 3 books!)

It's only been a few weeks and I've already finished these three books faster than I usually listen to only one. Now it's sort of bittersweet to know the next one is the last one - however I'm excited to see (hear) where the story goes! I'll add them to my feel-good-books list and re-listen in the future.

Liebevoll gezeichnete Charaktere, die persönliche Geschichte der Hauptfiguren sehr vorhersehbar, aber die Geschichte insgesamt gelungen.

This book felt different from the previous ones in the sense that the setting was different. Very exciting but not nerve wrecking. I also loved that it is for once a homosexual relationship.
Recommend for people that like fantasy, a little bit of action, queer love and a tiny bit of spice.

Narrator rather boring and monotone for my liking. But the writing of T Kingfisher was outstanding and I enjoyed he story very much.
