THE STORY

The fortress world of Regium has a proud history, For millennia, it has endured when others have fallen to ruin and damnation, standing defiant in defence of the Imperium of Man. But now it is shaken. Parasitic plagues run rampant, and Regium's citizens are haunted by dreams of horrific monsters feasting upon their flesh and marrow.

Lieutenant Castamon of the Ultramarines recognises these signs of an impending Tyranid invasion all too well. Rallying his warriors, the battle-hardened veteran launches a strike force to slaughter the xenos in the outer system, before it can reach Regium. But as this new tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan proves unpredictable and deadly, Castamon and the First Company must harness all their skill, might, and zeal, or face utter annihilation.

The picture says it all, you get Ultramarines fighting Tyranids. The plot is decent, though I found the antagonist creature lacked a bit in actual plotline considering how it is hyped up in the first half of the book. The narrator does a perfectly fine job in my opinion.

Theo Solomon reads the characters as if they are crying all the time. It is not a pleasant experience to hear.
The story is OK but feels a bit rushed.

Alles in allem ein guter Space Marine Roman mit Ultramarines gegen Tyraniden.
Die Geschichte ist nichts besonderes aber der Sprecher hat mir gut gefallen.
Ansonsten ein solides Intro in den Fokus der 10. Edition.

Voice actor for the book, just doesn't fit the setting. Not a terrible voice actor but a terrible choice for the book. Story was ok, nothing too exciting plus the ending is a bit of a let down

This hast to be one of the least enjoyable listening exieriences i've had. Voice acting is often best described as jarring. It's hard tonimmerse yourself in the story when characters sound just wrong and intonation often the same for to many figures. I can't recommend this Audiobook instead the print version has to be better, since you narrate it in your own voice, albeit in your head.

Ok book/ voice lacking

Insgesamt schwaches Buch. Auch wenn die Ultramarines die plain Vanilla Marines sind, schafft es der Autor nicht, ihre wenigen Eigenheiten einzubauen. Auch taucht wieder das Problem auf, dass die Marines teilweise zwischen Kanonenfutter und Superhelden chargieren. Der Sprecher selbst scheint auch wenig Ahnung von 40k Setting zu haben. Seine Interpretation der Marines passt nicht zu den Astartes, denen man die Angst abtrainiert hat.

One of the worst efition start Storys. And a bad reader.
I like Maries, Love tyranids and have Gsc, it could have been a cool Story but had so many weaknisses. The ultra marines didn't act like ultra marines and the tyranids were always just Monster, instead of describing more to New people.

The Narrator has a good voice, but the whole narration is bad, EVERY character and everything else sounds the same, and often feels wrongly intoned - everyone is gloomy, whiny, annoying and so on.
The second point is about the writing. Every single Space Marine is simply and absolutely wrongly characterized - "weak", "afraid" unsure of purpose, never in control of anything and so on, unbearably for a Space Marine even less for the vanilla Ultramarines.
The Author seems to have no idea what a Space Marine is, or at least how to portray them properly.
The whole Topic is very interesting. And except for the Space Marine parts the Story is really good.
