with sorcery. There is Wati, a spirit from ancient Egypt who leads a ragtag union of magical familiars. There are the Londonmancers, who read the future in the city’s entrails. There is Grisamentum, London’s greatest wizard, whose shadow lingers long after his death. Wirklich gutes Buch. Karaktere & Monster wie gewohnt von Miéville - großartig. John Lee ist ein unfassbar guter Sprecher. Empfohlen!!!

nein. ich musste mich zwingen, fertig zu hören.
spannend, aber sehr, sehr mühsam.

Würden Sie sich jetzt auch für ein anderes Hörbuch von China Mieville interessieren? Warum oder warum nicht?

nein, würde ich nicht. der stil des autors ist äußerst "eigenwillig".

Haben Sie vorher schon ein Hörbuch mit John Lee gehört? Wie würden Sie beide vergleichen?

ich liebe john lee. aber hier? sehr schwer zu verstehen für nicht nativ-speakers.

Hätten Sie das Hörbuch am liebsten in einem Rutsch durchgehört?

Leave it John Lee to just butcher a perfectly good book. Seriously, the man should narrate a phone book. That's the only book I can think of where John Lee's narration would be an improvement over written word. Never again.

This being my first Mieville I can't say I enjoyed it. It's very chaotic and its plot is all over the place. The characters are hardly recognizable, not least due to the narrator's inability to change his voice. All in all, an experience that left much to be desired.
