Über diesen Titel
Stephen Fry brings the richness of these magical stories to life in the original British recordings.
'You are sharing the Dark Lord's thoughts and emotions. The Headmaster thinks it inadvisable for this to continue. He wishes me to teach you how to close your mind to the Dark Lord.'
Treat your ears to a performance so rich and captivating you'll imagine yourself in the halls of Hogwarts. Wherever you listen, the unmistakable voice of Stephen Fry is guaranteed to guide you ever more deeply into this magical story and transport you to the heart of the adventure.
Dark times have come to Hogwarts. After the Dementors' attack on his cousin Dudley, Harry Potter knows that Voldemort will stop at nothing to find him. There are many who deny the Dark Lord's return, but Harry is not alone: a secret order gathers at Grimmauld Place to fight against the Dark forces. Harry must allow Professor Snape to teach him how to protect himself from Voldemort's savage assaults on his mind. But they are growing stronger by the day and Harry is running out of time...
Theme music composed by James Hannigan
Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter stories never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new listeners.

I feel like this is the book that holds the most change. You have Harry growing into himself and venting the anger he previously pushed down, as well as the new anger that just seems to appear out of nowhere. There is so much anger.
But most of this anger comes from pain. Pain at being misunderstood, ignored, pushed away and belittled and downplayed. Then there is Umbridge, who is undoubtedly, undeniably, the personification of evil, and Harry's anger reaches new heights. Kudos to him for not snapping after everything that happened this school year.
We also have his relationships that change a lot in this book. There is less fighting between the trio, though Ron and Hermione still bicker a lot. There is his godfather, who goes from friend to father figure/brother, to most important person, to most painful memory.
There is his love life and his first try at a romantic relationship, and the challenges that come with this, which he decidedly wasn't ready to face yet.
There are lies and deceit, and punishment for crimes he never committed, as well as the ridicule he is forced to face inside his own school.
We also have a lot of people abuse their power and making me wonder how anybody in their right mind could possibly let some specific people get away with their behavior (totally looking at Snape and Malfoy here, since Umbridge seems to be out of Dumbledore's jurisdiction for the most part.)
And: We finally get the answers to questions we may or may not have asked yet, and which lay the foundation for the future books and endgame.
The whole book feels like Harry in the first chapter, at the Dursleys. Like this is it. This is the one last break we get before everything goes down the drain. Every chapter one feels like the big ball is going to drop, just to then feel relieved that it doesn't, then the anxiety builds up again for the next round, rinse and repeat.
I definitely enjoyed the book, and applaud Stephen Fry once again for his great job at bringing life to the characters and story. It is always a joy to listen to his voice.
Gonna be starting the next book asap.
Still my favorite after all this time!
