This book will take your emotions on a roller coaster ride. Impeccably written. An absolute pleasure.

Phenomenal

This is my first Emily Henry book and it really lives up to her reputation. The banter is phenomenal, the characters three-dimensional and the story written in a way, that makes relating with and feeling for the characters so so easy.

The narrator of this book really put everything into this book. She read with all the emotion and passion, which sometimes made me completely zone out and melt into the book world.

Compared to other romance books I've read or listened to, this one has to be one of the best!

I loved Emily Henry’s other books but this was a total miss. Incredibly boring. And the ending so stupid

Boring

I listened to this over the span of two days. I was obsessed and really wanted to find out what made those two split up. As the other reviews suggest, i did in fact not find it boring but have to agree the ending was kind of stupid. I liked the story and how it was set up but would have loved to see the ending, or just even the second half of the book, take up a different direction. The conflicts did not really work between the main characters and was explained lazily. I get why they were unhappy but the break up did not really make sense. But it was really cute and despite me not fully connecting with how the ending plays out, I still left feeling satisfied. I recommend to listen to it and to make up their own mind.

P.s.: i thought the two best friends were really nice to learn about, but i can‘t get over the token POC friend and in this case the token queer and POC friend. I think it is just lazy diversity. I think it is actually quite harmful to open up this narrative about a queer black woman in the US and than just gloss over it to make it a happy and peaceful world. I think cleo’s character is so much more interesting than the main character whose name i already forgot. I would have loved to listen to a full book about cleo‘s and kimmy‘s lovestory.

This is a shallow and boring book. The performance was ok. Sad I wasted so much time on this. Should have just left it, but I bought the paperback and the audiobook so felt compelled to finish.
