Hab fast alle ali hazelwood Bücher gehört und geliebt. Dieses hier hat mich leider nicht so gefesselt. Ist aber trotzdem nicht schlecht. Kann man anhören.

Die Story hat mich nicht ganz so gefesselt wie die vorherigen Bücher von Ali Hazelwood, aber insgesamt empfehlenswert.

I actually really liked the story itself, and I slipped into the world she created pretty quickly. I appreciate that it’s a little different — its own set of rules, not just another Stephenie Meyer or Bram Stoker vampire remix.
But: the plot develops rather slowly in the beginning and then suddenly sprints ahead right after the kidnapping.
Overall, I would have preferred a full-length novel instead of a novella. The potential is definitely there.
There was also too little suspense between the main characters for my taste. They clicked way too fast.
And finally, the male narrator just didn’t work for me. He did not sound like a 29-year-old — more like someone comfortably over 50. Too fatherly, too condescending. And his attempts at various accents for the side characters didn’t exactly shine either.

I liked both characters a lot. He doesnt sound and doesnt seem so young which I like. It’s not really about another college romance. I like that. And i like the male voice! I only wished the book was longer because the plot was slow paced and the picked up pace a lot. I wanted to hear more of his view. His thoughts. I love the fantasy setting. 😍
