Über diesen Titel

In this groundbreaking book, Matthieu Ricard makes a passionate case for happiness as a goal that deserves as least as much energy as any other in our lives.

Wealth? Fitness? Career success? How can we possibly place these above true and lasting well-being? Drawing from works of fiction and poetry, Western philosophy, Buddhist beliefs, scientific research, and personal experience, Ricard weaves an inspirational and forward-looking account of how we can begin to rethink our realities in a fast-moving modern world. With its revelatory lessons and exercises, Happiness is an eloquent and stimulating guide to a happier life.

I am grateful to Matthieu Ricard because I started meditation with the insight I got from this book. I bought the book 11 years ago and the audio recently. I listen the audio when I run or sit in train or walk. I listened to some of the chapters more than 10 times: Disturbing Emotions, the alchemy of suffering, the veils of the ego. This book is my BIBLE: I listen to it so frequently to remind myself of the causes of suffering and how to develop the skill to be free of them.

The best book to develop the skill of Happiness

Despite its title, which may come across like a cliche, this book contains no cliches at all.
It is concise, intelligent, approachable and respectful of any reader and their potential experiences, history and knowledge.
The author does not make false promises of easy solutions. He does not pretend to know best or teach us from above. He beckons us with the wisdom of the ages, and invites us to follow it.

A true work of compassion, the author gathered his life’s experience and offers it as a gift.

As a listener, I could deeply feel the respect towards me and life’s tribulations, and the most honest attempt to better everyone’s life in the most meaningful way.

Maybe, and may it be, one of the most important reads of your life. I will likely listen to it again, while trying to integrate it into my life.
The audio production is flawless.
