Inhaltsangabe

David Brin, the Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of Sundiver, crafts Brightness Reef, a luminous gem of science-fiction literature.

Persecuted refugees from six separate alien races have migrated to the idyllic planet Jijo. And despite their incredible diversity, the inhabitants live together in blissful harmony. However, settlement on Jijo is illegal - and it's only a matter of time before the residents of this forbidden paradise are discovered by the galactic powers-that-be.

Great book

I really loved reading the Uplift books, so i was thrilled to see them as audiobook. I made a short decission and bought it. And I do not regret it.
Before you listen to the Uplift Trilogy, i recommend listening to at least "Startide Rising". You know why, when you are done. But back to "Brightness Reef".
The only (very) minor flaw I saw (or better heard) was the narrators way of stretching the words when ever he read a non human character. This makes it sometimes hard to stay with him, but else he made a very good job and gave live to the characters, which is very important to me.
In the manner of Brin there are several parallel storylines, which makes it hard to follow sometimes, but he manages it very neatly to synchronise them by events.
