It was the end of World War II. FDR's New Deal had redefined American politics. Taxes were at an all-time high. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had created a fear of total annihilation. Great for BioShock fans
If you are interested in finding out more about rapture, this is the book for you. It describes the events before BioShock.

Very average
There are worse things to listen to.
The author gets hung up on references to the game a lot, rather than fleshing out the story. A lot of the character motivation and action is illogical or downright stupid, because the author seemingly attempts to tell a story that doesn't quite fit into the established setting.

Okayish
The story about how Rapture came to be before the player enters the city in the game has some interesting notions. But it’s far from captivating. It took me almost 6 months to finish it whereas I usually get through an audible within a week.
