 Six million years ago, at the very dawn of the starfaring era, Abigail Gentian fractured herself into a thousand male and female clones: the shatterlings. Not only are Campion and Purslane late for their 30-second reunion but they have also brought along an amnesiac golden robot for a guest. But the wayward shatterlings get more than the scolding they expect: they face the discovery that someone has a very serious grudge against the Gentian line, and there is a very real possibility of traitors in their midst. The surviving shatterlings have to dodge exotic weapons while they regroup to try to solve the mystery of who is persecuting them and why---before their ancient line is wiped out of existence forever.

a great idea behind the story about information and memories as the most valuable thing in the interstellar community.

the only thing a little confusing at times when listening is the story is told by two people in the I-perspective and these two are a couple more ore less always together. I can imagine that I'm the paper book it is easier to distinguish.

Space Opera der anderen Art: Reynolds erzählt eine faszinierende Geschichte über eine Zeitspanne von 6 Millionen Jahren. Gefolgt wird den 'Shatterlingen' Purslane und Campion, zwei von ein Tausend Klonen, die als Teil der elitären Linie 'Haus der Blumen' die Milchstraße erforschen und manipulieren. Durch einen Komplott entwickelt sich eine rasante Handlung, deren Finale dem Leser unvorstellbare Dimensionen, wie es nur wenige Bücher im grenzenlosen Genre der Sci-Fi vermögen, aufzeigt.

Der Sprecher, John Lee, leistet wieder hervorragende Arbeit.

Mit Hyperion und Three Body Problem ein Muss für jeden Sci-Fi-Leser.
