I listened to the audio books of both of Khaled Hosseinis other books (Kiterunner and A thousand splendid suns) such strong books and amazingly read. Unfortunately this was different. I was very excited and had high hopes for this one too. It is read by three different people, all Afghan I presume, which makes it very authentic (I loved this when Khaled Hosseini read his previous books) however this time I struggled a lot to understand one of the people reading. The story starts with many different characters and story’s and I simply could not follow the reading and kept missing out on things. I got very bored and it just did not catch me. Unfortunately this is due to the narrators. I ended up not finishing the audio books and bought / read the book, which I liked very much. So good book, but not a good audio book for me, sadly.

Story was strong but reading disappointing
