I loved the authentic accents and the emotional storytelling! It turns this audiobook into a mind-movie

wonderfull listening experience

Ich höre das Buch jetzt nach 10 Jahren zum zweiten Mal ins es gefällt mir noch besser als beim ersten Hören.In dem Buch geht zum einen über die schlimme Rassentrennung der 60er Jahre in den USA, darüber habe ich in diesem Buch viel gelernt. Was mich aber noch mehr berührt hat, war die Entwicklung der einzelnen starken Frauen und ihre wundervoll nährenden Freundschaften. Die Sprecherinnen, mit ihrem Südstaatenakzent und authentischer Betonung erwecken die Figuren erst zum Leben. Mein Lieblingszitat aus dem Buch: "You is smart. You is kind. You is important." Und bei jedem Schokokuchen, den ich backe, danke ich immer einmal kurz an Minny und muss schmunzeln. - aber das lieber Leser, wirst du erst nach dem Hören verstehen. Viel Vergnügen! ;-)

This book is everything. The characters are wonderful and strong, and the story is compelling and heartwarming. This was exactly what I needed to fill my winter nights. The narration was second to none and I will definitely be welcoming Minny and Aibileen into my home again.
