I got the unabridged version of the audio book. I have to admit i loved Julia Whelan reading Amy. She really understood to read her and in addition to that she has a wonderful clear voice. Kirby Heyborne is also really good, in the beginning, i did not like him to much, he sounded weak, but with time you understand he makes "Nick" who he is!
I liked this book very much, the story was always interesting and exciting. It was good that the story was told from both sides. I was always excited to hear how she / he felt, after i heard one side. I loved Gillian Flynns humor and sarcasm about the society and all the stereotypes in this book.
I also liked the end, like someone else already wrote, it was the perfect ending, the story was supposed to end like it did!

First of all I have to say that I thought I will not like this book because I'm not particularly a Thriller reader. I couldn't be more wrong.

Nick and Amy Dunne are the most effed up couple I've ever had the chance to "meet". Seriously it gave me the feeling as if I was watching a reality show that I somehow don't want to watch but I can't stop watching no matter what. Also this was the first time I encountered that I couldn't trust the narrators, I never had that in a book before. Both Nick and Amy paint a picture of themselves that they want you to believe.

Although the first big twist was pretty obvious, I did not see everything coming. All in all it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Note: I listen to this book because I thought it might be boring and therefore it is easier for me to listen to a boring part than to read it (because I automatically will close the book and put it away) but those two narrators did an amazing job! Brilliant!

Nick And Amy Dunne...Couple Of The Year

Zu Anfang gewöhnungsbedürftig. Es dauerte, bis die Geschichte an Fahrt aufnahm. Ich wollte einen spannenden Krimi, keine “Nabelschau“ der Helden und ihrer Beziehung. Die zweite Hälfte (ja, es dauert, bis man dahin kommt), entschädigt für die Längen in Teil 1, die rückblickend aber notwendig sind.

Durchhalten lohnt sich

Great Story, amazing writing but the end feels rushed.
I feel like Amy would have managed to make Nick fall in love with her again, because the way the writer described Nick , he clearly has his own issues and both are a bit deranged 🤭 and that would made sense that they would do the best out of all giving the fact that they got to know each other like no one else.

Die beiden narrator sind einmalig und verstehen es den Zuhörer/in komplett in ihren Bann
zu ziehen
