Neal Shusterman ist mein neuer Lieblingsautor. Nach "Scythe" hat mich nun auch die Story von "All Better Now" einfach nur gefesselt. Vor allem da die Sichtweisen der Charaktere auf dieses Virus nur allzu realistisch und teilweise auch furchteinflößend sind. Das Menschen, die reichen und mächtigen dieser Welt, Angst haben ihr Dasein zu verlieren, wenn die armen der Bevölkerung einfach nur glücklich sind mit dem was sie haben. Kein Neid, keine Habgier, kein Konsum mehr. Eine riesige Community, die einander hilft ohne eine Gegenleistung zu erwarten. Wie schön so eine Welt aussehen könnte. Wobei man die Ängste trotz allem auch verstehen kann. Wie kann man die Sonne wertschätzen, wenn es nicht auch ab und an Regen gibt. Und würde sie dann nicht alles verbrennen? Wie sieht es da mit dem Glücklich-Sein aus? Ist man dann irgendwann nur noch ein lächelnde Hülle seiner Selbst? Ich freue mich, dass es irgendwann einen zweiten Band geben wird und kann ihn kaum erwarten. Was wird in so einer Welt passieren in der zwei so Extreme aufeinander treffen?
Zudem möchte ich wissen was aus Morgan wird. Schon lange nicht mehr einen so unsympathischen Charakter erlebt...
