This book did something with me. The maincharacter Audra isn't really easy to like, she is rude, selfish, brutal...but yet she is such a strong woman and it is soo damn authentic because she had such a cruel upbringing. So sometimes I hated her but with every chapter I also grew fond of her and understood her more and more. I just loved how new it was to have such an irritating woman as the lead figure in a book. And it works. The kind of love triangle...I wasn't too sure at first because I think it makes it hard to root for someone when there are more than one love interests. But this book made it just right and even though I was not rooting for the person she chose the whole time...it just works.
The world building worked for me as well. Loved it. It is a suttle fantasy with a little fea story but the focus is definitely romance. With lots of heartbreak and revenge.
There is lots of smut but not very explicit.
